According to Board of Control for Cricket in India sources, Roger Binny, former cricketer for India and a member of the 1983 World Cup-winning team, will likely replace Sourav Ganguly as BCCI President. BJP MLA Ashish Shelar will likely succeed Arun Dhumal as BCCI Treasurer. The Secretary of the BCCI, Jay Shah, will retain his post as BCCI Secretary.

All office bearers from different parts of the country and from other associations filed nominations for various seats on the board at a BCCI meeting held at the Trident Hotel in Mumbai on Tuesday. The discussions took place during a BCCI internal meeting prior to the elections, which are set for October 18.

Rajeev Shukla, a senior BCCI administrator, will continue to serve as Vice President of the board, and Ashish Sellar is set to succeed Arun Dhumal as treasurer. Binny was a member of the 1983 World Cup-winning team and has previously served on the BCCI selection committee. According to reports, former pacer Roger Binny is the frontrunner to succeed Ganguly as BCCI president. The Karnataka State Cricket Association is currently led by 67-year-old Binny.

On October 11 and 12, candidates may file their nominations, the nominations will be reviewed on October 13, and candidates may withdraw their submissions as late as October 14. Elections for the 16-member International Cricket Council (ICC) Board Chairman's position are scheduled to take place this November, and Sourav Ganguly, the current BCCI President, is tipped to be India's representative.
