The Supreme Court on Tuesday
gave its nod to list appeals against the Karnataka High Court’s order that
upholds the ban on hijab in educational institutions.

Arora was seen on Tuesday appealing in the apex court against Karnataka HC’s
order of banningthe hijab in educational institutions.

the appeals.
Several petitioners have moved
to the Supreme Court and challenged the HC order regarding the hijab ban.
One of the appeals in the Supreme
Court has alleged, "step-motherly behavior of government authorities which
has prevented students from practicing their faith & resulted in an unwanted
law & order situation".
The appeal presented to the
apex court mentioned, “HC in its impugned order "had vehemently failed to
apply its mind & was unable to understand the gravity of the situation as
well as the core aspect of the Essential Religious Practices enshrined under
Article 25 of the Constitution of India".
The country saw the
eruption of the hijab row when in January 2022, the Government PU College in
Udupi disallowed six girls wearing the hijab from entering the premises, which
resulted in a massive protest against the college.
