An accident occurred on Itaunja-Mahona road in Lucknow when a truck went out of control and reportedly hit several shops and houses. Three people have died and five are injured.
According to DCP North, Gopal Krishna Chaudhary, the truck was moving on the road when it lost control and hit the shops.
"An accident took place on the Itaunja-Mahona road, in which a truck reportedly lost control and rammed into some shops. Five people are injured and three people have lost their lives. The police force and SDRF are present at the spot," Chaudhary said in an official statement.
Police & SDRF reached the spot immediately. Rescue operation is over and no one is trapped under the debris.
"The truck has been seized and further legal action is underway. A forensic team will arrive to ascertain the cause," Chaudhary said.
Injured are being treated in a local hospital and their condition is yet to be ascertained.
