Washington, May 31 2025:US President Donald Trump revealed that Pakistani officials will be visiting Washington next week as part of ongoing negotiations aimed at resolving tensions in South Asia. Speaking about efforts to broker a deal involving both India and Pakistan, Trump has expressed optimism but made it clear that the peace between two nations is a vital prerequisite.

“We’re very close to making a deal with India,” Trump said. He further added, “I wouldn’t have any interest in making a deal with either if they were going to be at war with each other,” highlighting the significance of stability in the region.

This statement comes after a longstanding tensions between India and Pakistan, two nuclear-armed neighbors with a history of conflicts. The US administration has repeatedly advocated for dialogue to ease hostilities and foster cooperation.

The upcoming visit by Pakistani representatives signals ongoing diplomatic engagement, with the United States seeking to play a mediating role. Analysts view these developments as part of a broader push to foster peace and economic collaboration between the two countries.

President Trump’s remarks reaffirm Washington’s position that any meaningful agreement will require a cessation of hostilities and constructive engagement from both India and Pakistan.
