**Rudraprayag:**
During the ongoing Kedarnath Dham pilgrimage season, Superintendent of Police Rudraprayag, Akshay Pralhad Konde, has issued strict directives to all station in-charges across the district to take effective action against black marketing and overpricing of helicopter tickets. In line with these instructions, appropriate legal action is being taken in related cases.
One such complaint was lodged at Guptkashi Police Station by Himanshu Rai Agrawal, a resident of Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh). He stated that he had planned a trip to Kedarnath Dham with his wife and got in contact—through an acquaintance—with individuals based in Srinagar Garhwal. These individuals demanded ₹25,000 per ticket, collecting a total of ₹50,000 from him. They provided him with a fake Aadhaar card under someone else’s name but with his photo affixed, instructing him to travel using that ticket and ID.
Based on the complaint regarding black marketing, fraud, and forgery, an FIR (Case No. 19/2025) was registered at Guptkashi Police Station on May 18, 2025, under sections 318(4), 336(2), 336(3), 338, and 340(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (Indian Penal Code). The investigation is ongoing.
During the investigation, the district police used surveillance and intelligence methods to apprehend the accused, who are now being presented before the Honorable Court. Investigations are also underway in other similar cases related to helicopter ticket black marketing.
