D.H. Pora, Kulgam – June 14, 2025:In observance of World Blood Donor Day, a major blood donation camp was organized today at Shaheed Wali Mohammad Itoo Memorial Hospital (Sub-District Hospital) D.H. Pora, under the supervision of Block Medical Officer (BMO) DH Pora. The event was held in collaboration with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kulgam and the South Kashmir Blood Donors Volunteers.
The camp was inaugurated by Chief Medical Officer Dr. Shaukat Hussain Parray, who appreciated the efforts of the organizing team and commended the enthusiastic participation of voluntary blood donors. In his remarks, Dr. Parray emphasized the importance of voluntary blood donation in saving lives and strengthening the healthcare system.
A total of 135 blood units were collected during the drive, marking a significant contribution to the local blood bank reserves. The event witnessed active participation from healthcare workers, local volunteers, and members of civil society.
Speaking on the occasion, the CMO Kulgam expressed heartfelt gratitude to all donors and volunteers, highlighting the vital role such initiatives play in ensuring the availability of safe blood for patients in need.
The blood donation drive was conducted in a well-organized manner, following all necessary medical protocols and ensuring donor safety throughout the process.
