Lucknow, May 20 2025: Daniel Vettori , head coach of Sun-risers Hyderabad has hailed his team’s performance following their convincing win over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Monday. Vettori was especially impressed with the batting line-up, calling it their “best performance of the season.”
Speaking to the media post-match, Vettori praised opener Abhishek Sharma for setting the tone with a blistering 59 off just 20 balls.
“Abhishek was outstanding. Everyone read the conditions well, stuck to their roles and helped us chase down the target comfortably,” said the former New Zealand captain.
He also commended about the contribution of young talents like Ishan Kishan, Heinrich Klaasen and Kamindu Mendis, whose partnerships ensured SRH overhauled LSG’s 205-run total with ease.
Vettori stressed on the importance of finishing the season strong, despite SRH being out of playoff contention. “We want to discover new talent and give opportunities. Today, players like Atharva Taide and Ishan Malinga showed their potential,” he added.
With the win, SRH ended LSG’s hopes of making the playoffs, as both teams now sit at the bottom half of the table—SRH with nine points and LSG narrowly ahead with ten.
