Mumbai, May 29:
Ahead of Season 3 of the Maharashtra Premier League (MPL), the Ratnagiri Jets have appointed the former Indian cricketer Devieka Palshikaar as the Lead Performance Coach for both their men's and women’s squads.
The MPL kicks off on June 4, with Ratnagiri Jets defending their title against Eagle Nashik Titans. The inaugural edition of the Women’s Maharashtra Premier League (WMPL) begins June 5, where the Jets face Raigad Royals.
Palshikaar brings a rich coaching background, having served as Batting Coach of Mumbai Indians in the Women’s Premier League and Head Coach of Kerala’s senior women’s side. Her appointment is seen as a major step in integrating a cohesive coaching strategy across both teams.
Working alongside Head Coach Ranjit Pande, Devieka’s focus will be on strategic development and high-performance execution. Her prior mentorship of players like Smriti Mandhana is expected to bolster team morale and performance.
CEO Praful Chandawarkar stated that the franchise's goal goes beyond titles, aiming to develop a strong cricketing ecosystem through grassroots initiatives led by JetSynthesys.
