The Indian cricket team has been dealt another double injury blow in the ongoing England Test series. Nitish Kumar Reddy has been ruled out of the remainder of the tour due to a serious knee injury. While training in Bengaluru, Reddy suffered a ligament tear in his left knee. Doctors have advised complete rest, and as a result, he will play no further part in the five-match series.
Adding to India's woes, pacer Arshdeep Singh has also been sidelined for the fourth Test in Manchester after injuring his left thumb during a net session in England. His availability for the final Test remains uncertain, and the team management is now considering alternatives to fill the gap.
This double setback has severely impacted India’s pace attack. Akash Deep, another promising pacer, is also facing fitness concerns due to a minor groin strain, casting doubt on his participation. In response, the selectors have brought in Haryana’s young fast bowler Anshul Kamboj. Known for his impressive domestic record and consistent performances for India A, Kamboj has now been drafted into the Test squad.
With a growing list of injuries, maintaining balance in the squad has become a challenge for Team India. The crucial fourth Test, which could decide the outcome of the series, begins on July 23 at Old Trafford, Manchester. All eyes are now on the reshuffled pace unit and whether they can rise to the occasion against a strong England side.
