The Indian cricket team was scheduled to tour Bangladesh after completing its tour of England. Team Indian  was scheduled to play a series of 3 ODI matches and 3 T20 International matches there, but now this series has been postponed.  But now a big update has come to the fore. According to the information received in this regard, it has been revealed that Team India will also play a series of ODI and T20 international matches with another country.

Now the BCCI and the selection committee are in talks to play a bilateral series with a  team in this free time and in that context that the name of Sri Lanka came to the fore. Sources said that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has already started preliminary talks with the Sri Lankan Cricket Board (SLC). The tour is planned to include three ODIs and three T20Is.

Not only India, but Sri Lanka too is well placed to host the series, as the Sri Lanka Premier League (LPL) is scheduled to be held at that time, but it is facing uncertainty. As a result, Sri Lankan cricketers will also be available for national duty at that time.

This potential series could take place between the last week of August and mid-September. Although there has been no official announcement from either the BCCI or the Sri Lankan board yet, sources say that both sides are keen on positive discussions on the matter.

It is worth noting that India and Sri Lanka last faced each other in 2024, where Sri Lanka won the ODI series and India won the T20 series. Keeping that memory in mind, cricket fans are looking forward to another exciting series.

Also, if this series against Sri Lanka is implemented, then Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma could be one of the biggest attractions for the Indian team. After a long time, these two veteran cricketers can be seen together on the field again. The presence of these two superstars in the Indian team's batting lineup will not only boost the team's confidence, but it will also be a special moment for the audience. Cricket fans have been waiting for a long time for Virat-Rohit to get back to their old rhythm. If this series against Sri Lanka really happens, then we can once again witness that magical batting partnership.

Even though the Bangladesh tour has been cancelled, Indian cricket fans have nothing to be disappointed about. On the contrary, the prospect of a competitive series against Sri Lanka is giving them renewed optimism. Rather, the prospect of a competitive series against Sri Lanka is giving them renewed optimism. Now all that is waiting is for the official announcement from the BCCI and the Sri Lankan board. Once that announcement comes, it will be clear where India's cricket journey is headed next.
