The Khelo India Youth Games 2025 began formally today in Bhagalpur, Bihar, as the Under-19 Archery Competition opened this highly awaited national sporting event. The archery competitions will be conducted from May 4 to May 7 at the Sandy's Compound Complex.
This time, Bihar is hosting Khelo India Youth Games for the first time in the history of the state, and the games are being organized in five districts—Patna, Bhagalpur, Rajgir, Gaya, and Begusarai. The event has turned the state into a bustling sports center, attracting sportspersons, coaches, and spectators from across the nation.
Locally, Bhagalpur officials were proud and excited that the city was hosting such a high-profile event. Security has been guaranteed in full and of the highest class to ensure the smooth running of the games. The people have been urged to go and witness and cheer for the young players.
One of the young athletes, Aishwarya Kumari, epitomized the spirit of the games with her confidence and zeal for archery. She, along with thousands of others, is fighting for the highest honors and an opportunity to be identified on the national platform.
The Khelo India Youth Games 2025 will go on till May 15, with more than 10,000 sports persons participating in 28 disciplines, including Olympic, non-Olympic, and indigenous games. The inaugural ceremony was held at the Patliputra Sports Complex in Patna, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually opened the event.
The games are being telecast live on DD Sports and digital platforms, so the country can see its future sporting heroes rise to fame.
