New Delhi, May 20 2025:The Melbourne Stars have confirmed a two-year extension for head coach Peter Moores, who will now remain at the helm through Big Bash League (BBL) season 16, following a remarkable turnaround in BBL|13.
Moores, a former England head coach with extensive international experience, led the Stars to their first finals appearance in five years, winning five consecutive games at the end of the regular season.
"I'm absolutely thrilled to continue this journey with the Stars,"”Last summer's turn around was special and the support at the MCG , the energy from the squad were unforgettable. With the right additions in the draft, we have a real shot at something big.”Moores said in a club release.
He further praised captain Marcus Stoinis for his leadership and hinted at further strengthening the squad for the next campaign.
Stars General Manager Max Abbott lauded Moores’ impact and stated “Peter brought belief, stability, and unity to a team that had started the season 0-5. His leadership was instrumental in our revival and everyone in the organization is excited to see where he can take the team next.”
