25 June, 2025:
A day after a truce between the two nations went into effect, Iran announced on Wednesday that three men who were suspected of spying for Israel would be executed.
Additionally, as many as 700 people have been arrested for ties with Israel, the state-affiliated Nournews reported.
According to an AFP report, judiciary's Mizan Online website said, “Majid Mosayebi... was hanged this morning after going through the full process of criminal procedure and after his sentence was confirmed by the Supreme Court,” adding that Mosayebi sought to provide “sensitive information ... to Mossad”.
The statement said, "The sentence was carried out this morning in Urmia," a reference to the city in the northwest that is close to the Turkish border. Images of the three men in blue prison uniforms were also made public by authorities.
The three men, who were hanged, were convicted of collaborating with Israel's Mossad and also smuggling equipment used in an assassination of an unnamed personality, Mizan reported, without sharing further details.
According to the report, Madani was accused of transmitting classified information and holding meetings with Mossad officers abroad, including in Brussels.
Iran regularly reports that people it accuses of collaborating with foreign intelligence services, especially Israel's Mossad, have been arrested and executed.
