Rani Mukherji’s much awaited film, ‘Mardani 3’ revealed the first look on 21st April. The film is supposed to hit the big screen on February 27, 2026, right before Holi.

Alike the last time, Rani Mukherji, returns as the fearless police, Shivani Shivaji Roy - all set to take on yet another dark and intense fight for justice. The third sequel seems to be more engrossing and hard hitting than the previous two.

The first look shows Rani in full action mode, holding a gun and pointing it straight at the camera—a clear signal that Shivani is back and not holding back. With its release coinciding with Holi, a festival that stands for the triumph of good over evil, the film promises a high-octane battle between Shivani’s unwavering sense of justice and a chilling new villain. The makers are calling it a bloody, fierce clash—and this time, the stakes are even higher. The Mardaani journey began in 2014 and continued with a successful sequel in 2019—both films were box office hits and critically praised. Rani confirmed Mardaani 3 was in the pipeline back in 2023, and now, with the film officially announced and the first look out, she’s ready to roar back into action. Backed by Yash Raj Films, the new chapter in this much-loved franchise promised to be bold, intense and full of fire.

Rani had earlier shared how close the franchise is to her heart. In 2024, she spoke about how proud she feels to represent the women of the Indian police force through Shivani’s character. She called Mardaani a franchise that keeps giving, thanks to the continued love and support from the audience. She also said it’s been a while since she wore the cop uniform, and she’s excited to return to the big screen with this powerful role.
