The inaugural Dharoi Adventure Fest commenced today at the picturesque Dharoi Dam in Satlasana taluka, Mehsana district, Gujarat. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel officially inaugurated the event at 9:30 AM, marking it as a significant step for adventure tourism in the state and highlighting a previously untapped location.
Jointly organized by the Gujarat Tourism Department and the Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI), the week-long festival offers a diverse range of over 10 land, water, and aerial activities. Enthusiasts can participate in adrenaline-pumping sports such as power boating, parasailing, paramotoring, rock climbing, and mountain biking. For those seeking a deeper connection with nature, trekking, hiking, and stargazing with camping options are also available.
Beyond the thrill of adventure sports, the festival integrates cultural and natural experiences. Evening cultural performances, astronomy camps, photography trails, and guided nature walks are part of the curated program, blending excitement with appreciation for the environment.
To ensure comfortable accommodation for visitors, a comprehensive Tent City has been established on-site. This temporary lodging facility features 21 air-conditioned tents, categorized into Rajwadi Suites, Premium Tents, and Deluxe AC Swiss Cottages, all-inclusive of meals. Additionally, premium and AC dormitories with over 100 beds cater to larger groups and budget travelers. Safety and comfort are prioritized, with health services, certified adventure gear, and fire safety systems readily available.
Tourism Minister Mulubhai Bera underscored that the Dharoi Adventure Fest aligns with Gujarat's broader strategy to diversify its tourism portfolio and foster adventure infrastructure development statewide. This event is pivotal in transforming the Dharoi Dam, traditionally known for its serene backwaters, into a dynamic adventure destination.
